Physical Connection
Ethernet Connection
For correct ethernet wiring, follow the guidelines for ethernet wiring.
RS485 Connection
- Locate the COM port on your Sungrow inverter
- Connect the RS485 cable:
- Connect A+ (typically red) to pin 1
- Connect B- (typically black) to pin 2
- Connect GND (typically yellow) to pin 3 if available
Network Configuration
For Ethernet Connection
- Set the inverter's network settings:
- Access the inverter's display interface
- Navigate to Settings → Communication Parameters
- Enable MODBUS-TCP
- Set the communication address (default: 502)
- Configure DHCP or static IP as needed
Device Configuration
Enabling Modbus Communication
- Access the inverter's LCD screen
- Navigate to Settings → Communication Parameters
- Set the following:
- Protocol: MODBUS
- Device Address: Set a unique address (1-247)
- For Modbus TCP:
- Enable MODBUS-TCP
- Port: 502 (default)
- IP Address: Configure as per your network requirements
Verification
- Check the communication LED indicator:
- Steady green: Normal communication
- Blinking green: Data transmission in progress
- Off: No communication
- Verify network connectivity using ping test (for Ethernet)
LED Status Indicators
| LED Status | Meaning | Action Required |
|---|
| Steady Green | Normal operation | None |
| Blinking Green | Data transmission | Normal operation |
| Off | No communication | Check connections and settings |
| Red | Communication error | Check configuration and cables |
